As a culmination of their first Unit of Inquiry under the Transdisciplinary Theme, Who we are, the students of Grade 4 conducted a Special Assembly to share their learning with the rest of the Primary School. Grade 1 and above attended the Special Assembly. The assembly began with a brief introduction of the unit and the TD theme by Koel and Anjali. This was followed by a series of three acts by Grade 4X. The first act showed the importance of a healthy breakfast. The second act showed the importance of the various vitamins in our diet. The third act emphasized the importance of protein, calcium, fat and water in our daily diet.
Grade 4Y shared their thoughts in the importance of the different healthy practices through a skit showing the story of a boy called Rohan who led an unhealthy lifestyle and suffered due to this. He transformed his ways and led a healthy lifestyle at the end of the play.
Grade 4 Z presented a skit to stress upon healthy practices and showed how a girl named Junko was haunted by a disease monster beacuse of all the unhealthy practices being followed by her. The good fairies try in vain to influence her to change her ways. Finally, when Junko falls horribly sick, she realizes the importance of healthy practices and turns over a new leaf.
The highlight of the assembly, however, was the rap song sung by the entire Grade 4, written by the teachers and rapped with confidence by the students.
It was a good assembly and we were proud to see the hard work of the students bear fruit with hard work and diligence.
