Grade 4 had the chance to go back in time by way of a trip to the Nehru Museum where they observed and studied the different parts of the Indian Freedom struggle under a new light. The students are researching on the different parts of the Indian Freedom struggle as a part of their unit under the transdisciplinary theme- Where we are in place and time.
In the museum, the students were able to read excerpts from very old newspapers and photographs dating as old as 1800s. The highlight of the trip was being able to witness Pandit Nehru delivering the famous speech of freedom at midnight. The dummy of the parliament and the famous leaders involved in the freedom struggle gave us a glimpse of history and the students and teachers alike were awestruck by its effect. The field trip was a good experience for the students as history was brought to life in the museum to them and the learning that took place would definitely stay with them for years to come.
